Simcha Reveals inner strength

Rabbi Simchah Bunim of Pshische related the following example of how simchah empowers a person with new strength.

Once while in the city of Dantzig, he saw a man drowning. There was no way Reb Simcha or anyone could save him; the person had to summon up the inner energy to fight the waves.
At first, the man was struggling vigorously. But the challenge was great. His strength began to ebb, and Reb Simcha saw a look of despair begin to form on the man's face; he was prepared to give up. With a slight smile, Reb Simcha shouted to the man: "give regards to the Livyoson"

A light smile broke out on the drowning man's face. With fresh vitality, he renewed his struggle and persevered until he was able to save himself. The smile had brought on a surge of new energy that saved his life

Gonna be a Bear

In this life I'm a woman,
In my next life maybe I wanna be a bear.
When you're a bear you get to hibernate.
You do nothing but sleep for six months.
I like that.

Before you hibernate you are supposed to eat like
crazy.
I could deal with that.

If you are a bear, you can wake up growling.
You have hairy legs and excess body fat.

Yup, gonna be a bear.

People are not cars. (tzvi freeman)

For cars - closeness is danger,
loneliness is freedom.

People are not cars.
Cars are dead.
People live.
Living beings need one another -
nurture one another,
share destinies and reach them together.

When you're alive - closeness is warmth,
loneliness is suffocating.

Yud alef Shvat

Positive Mitzvah 72: The Guilt-offering adjustable to financial status

-Leviticus 5:1 "And if a person sins... he shall bring his guilt
offering... but if he cannot afford..."

A person who is impure (see Positive Mitzvah 74) is forbidden to enter
the Beis HaMikdash or eat from korbonos.
Breaking an oath or taking a false oath are also forbidden.
If a person commits any of these
sins, he is commanded to bring a guilt offering.

The Torah considers his financial status. A person who cannot afford
an expensive offering is allowed to bring one which costs less.

Yud alef Shvat

THE HAYOM YOM

The seder of the day starts with Modeh Ani.
And this is said before Negel Vasser even with tomay hands -
Because all the tumos of the world cannot defile the "Modeh Ani"
the "I acknowledge" of a Yid.
He might lack one thing or another but his Modeh Ani stays intact.

BOSI L'GANI ACHOISI KALLA

Don't detach from the world - transform it!
Turn it to light, to good.

Take the animal soul and transform it!
Turn the unholy insanity, into shtus d'kedusha.

I HEREBY PRONOUNCE -

THIS DAY AS :
CHOCOLATE DAY :)

I adhered to this day accordingly-
6 pieces.

Lean on me *

Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

*Figured it had to be some song..

Troll

troll [trəul] noun
an imaginary creature of human-like form, very ugly and evil-tempered

Calm down. T'is fine.

It is attainable.... ya... sure....

What is it that diverts one from his natural inclination to engage in his bodily wants,
and that enables his diligence to overcome his physical self-love?

It is the love of Hashem -the hidden tevunah-love.

For this reason, the tevunah provides his Torah and mitzvos with "wings", enabling them to rise heavenward, as though motivated by a revealed and conscious love of Hashem.
TORAH OR - first part printed in Kopust.

Same difference :
LIKKUTEI TORAH - 2cd part, printed in Zitomer.

Yep, those were the days....

Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.
La la la la...
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days...

Humanitarian Grounds...

Security Guard : You know this office only handles emergency passports.
Me trying to convince him it's kinda an emergency..
S.G. : You know what? It's all about persuasion, try to convince them. But if they don't do it, then you can always enter by land.
Me trying to understand how in the world do I enter England by land.
S.G. : Well, you can fly till the closest destination then walk over the border.
Me still not comprehending how and where would be the closest place...
Finally...
S.G. OHHHH, you want to go to England... Ha, I thought to Canada...

At the window telling my story... need a passport...
"Is it emergency?"
Me, well ya, kinda, my daughter had a baby and needs my help...
"Not emergency, it will take about 6 weeks, we cannot do it any faster, need to send it to Canada"
Me trying to straighten him out by saying that they COULD do it faster, a raya because if it IS an emergency then they CAN hack it!
So I say, "Treat it as an emergency".
No go..
I ask for supervisor -
My buddy Security Guard comes over to see how I'm faring...

On the window- paper states what is considered an emergency, one of the things is if you are going under Humanitarian grounds.
Me don't really know what that is, but hey I'll try..
Supervisor comes...
Me, "Can you treat this as an emergency under the Humanitarian grounds...?"
She asks how that is ... I tell her my daughter needs my help... 4th baby etc...
She says if we get a doctor's note that she needs my help.... then maybe...

And Aliza laughed and laughed... "Humanitarian..."
